Our approach

Jack Foundry is an Australian business platform. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

We collect what we need to run the service and no more. We do not sell personal information.

Account information

When you create or use an account we may hold:

  • Your name.
  • Your email address.
  • Your phone number, if you supply one.
  • Your job title, if you supply one.
  • Authentication and account records, such as sign in events and the organisations you belong to.

Business information

We also hold information about the business you use Jack Foundry for:

  • Business or trading name and related business details.
  • Website and business contact details.
  • The locations you save, such as a site, branch, store or dealership, including its address and coordinates.

Jobs and searches

Jack Foundry works by letting you describe work you need done. When you do that, we process:

  • The job or search description you write.
  • The requirements interpreted from that description.
  • The location searched and the search radius or area parameters used.
  • The provider results returned and the evidence supporting each match.
  • Shortlist decisions and supplier relationship records created from a search.

Provider and supplier information

To return useful results, Jack Foundry collects and processes publicly available information about businesses and providers from public business listings, business websites and other publicly accessible sources used by the platform. This may include business name, address and location, contact details, website, advertised services and capabilities, and licensing or certification information a business has published about itself.

This information is gathered from public sources. Its presence in Jack Foundry does not mean the provider supplied it to us, reviewed it or approved it, and we do not independently verify it. A provider who wants information corrected or removed can contact us at hello@alturist.com.au.

Private business data

Some information you create is private to your business and is not shared with unrelated businesses. This may include:

  • Internal notes about a provider.
  • Ratings and recorded outcomes.
  • Shortlist decisions and confirmed supplier relationships.
  • Jobs and saved searches.
  • User activity within your account that is relevant to running the product.

Automated and AI assisted processing

Jack Foundry uses automated processing, including AI assisted language models, to interpret what you have written, work out the likely type of provider needed, and summarise publicly available evidence about a provider against your request.

This processing produces suggestions and a match assessment. It does not verify a provider, does not confirm a licence, certification or insurance, and is not a binding decision about a provider or about you. You decide who to contact and engage.

Service providers we use

We use third party services that are necessary to run the platform. They may handle information only to provide their service to us. These currently include:

  • Cloud hosting, database and file storage.
  • Authentication and account session management.
  • Mapping, place and business listing data services.
  • Road distance and travel time routing services.
  • Transactional email delivery, for example invitations and account emails.
  • AI language model processing used to interpret jobs and assess public evidence.

Where information is handled

Some of these services process information outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled appropriately.

Anonymous searches

The free search on our public website can be used without an account. To keep it available and limit abuse we store a random identifier in your browser and a one way hashed value derived from your network address. We do not store the network address itself.

Cookies and browser storage

We use a small set of cookies and browser storage keys. Optional technologies load only with your consent. The Cookie Policy lists everything currently in use and lets you change your choices.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including access controls that separate one business's private data from another's. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we do not claim any certification we have not obtained.

How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal and record keeping obligations, resolve disputes and maintain legitimate business records. When it is no longer needed we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Your rights and how to contact us

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete your account, or make a privacy complaint. Email hello@alturist.com.au and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
